I'm restoring a 1979 southern cross 31 on a microbudget. I had a couple of questions as if you are not busy enough already. Where did you find the channel cut teak trim to go around the corners of the plywood? I have been looking and can't find it at any of the specialty shops. The other question is are you replacing the sealant inside the port and starboard hatches. Mine are leaking unless I really torque down on the butterfly nuts. What kind did you or would you use and where would you get it. It's pretty amazing, what you are doing. You most likely will have the nicest boat on the face of the planet in its class when you are done.
dww,
The channel pieces were from Houston Hardwoods, Inc. I may have extras I will check tomorrow. The main and scuttle hatches have been rebuilt but I have not bought new seals yet. thanks for kudos. I think I'm getting close but it's taking forever.

I know what you mean. You get one thing done and find two more in the process. I checked with Houston hardwoods 2 weeks ago while there buying my teak and holly and aquatek plywoods. Guy, the owner, told me they didn't have any of that style teak trim. I guess they were out at the time. If you find some I will pay you for it. Thanks,
David W. Wilson
David,
I misunderstood Juan. He bought teak at Houston Hardwood but is making the radiused channels as he goes. According to Juan West Marine sells the channels but you are stuck with their radius.
I may have a few extra but let's get off this blog. Email me at davidwkentsr@gmail.com
best
David
